Leading From Peace

Leading from Peace: Personal Equanimity as a Social Obligation

A Presentation by Scott Menzies

Personal Equanimity is a Social Obligation. In an age of increasing chaos and an onslaught of destructive attacks against people and our planet, Scott Menzies makes the case that the development of inner peace is not an optional personal choice, but critical to responsible, sustainable, and just action of any kind. Equanimity must become expected of those who would be leaders, advocates, or sources of information in order to ensure accurate strategic action that is not about personal emotional reactions, but is about solving the problems themselves. We cannot allow ourselves to respond to actions based in anger, fear, or ego with actions based in anger, fear, or ego, for, as feminist activist Audre Lorde wrote, “the master’s tools will never dismantle the master’s house.”

Join us at Yoga Mendocino on October 27th from 6pm – 7:30pm for this FREE presentation, followed by an open discussion.
